Pacific Rim; from Japan to Australia
We picked Pacific Rim for January because during our winter month it is summer there.
Perhaps some of the sunshine will reflect from the food served.

Macadamia Encrusted Mahi Mahi
Australian dish: Mahi Mahi fillet (a firm light meat) is breaded with amacadamia nut crust, pan browned crispy with peanut oil and served topped with a tangerine vinaigrette. Mahi Mahi is sometimes called dolphin fish but is not related to the mammal. Served with rice and vegetable hash seasoned with Asian salted black beans.

Tangy Adobo Chicken
Filipino dish: Grilled chicken breast stewed in adobo sauce, a rich and tangy sauce of tomato, garlic and rice vinegar with fresh cilantro. Served with rice and a vegetable hash seasoned with Asian salted black beans. |

Scallops with Soba Noodles
Hawaiian fusion dish: Seared scallops simmered in a coconut ginger lime sauce and served over soba (Japanese buckwheat noodles) The soba noodles are a good luck charm for the new year.

Sesame Tofu with
Miso-Sake Sauce
Japanese dish: Marinated tofu coated with sesame seeds and rice flour, deep fried and topped with a
miso-sake sauce. Served with soba noodles and a vegetable hash seasoned with Asian salted black beans. A great vegan dish.

Steak on the Barbie
Australian dish: Ginger-soy marinated
rib eye steak grilled on the “Barbie”cue,
Australian style. Served with a zucchini-horseradish
relish, grilled potato chunks and a vegetable
hash seasoned with Asian salted black beans.

Dessert of the Month: Pavlova
A crispy pecan meringue shell filled with whipped cream and kiwi,
blueberries and bananas. This dessert seems to be very popular in
Australia and New Zealand. Named after the Russian ballerina Anna Pavlova.

Two ˝ glasses; one Lindeman’s Reserve Chardonnay and
the Rosemount’s Show Reserve Shiraz, both from Australia.
We have a very large selection of Australian wines
including the famous Grange from Penfolds.
Mai Tai
Tropical drink of light and dark rum and triple
sec with lime, orange and pineapple juices.
Island Vacation
Coconut rum with pineapple juice and grenadine
with a float of dark rum.
Filipino Lumpia
Thin lumpia skins wrapped around Asian vegetables
and baked tofu strips, deep fried, and served with a spicy
vinegar dipping sauce.
Australian Shrimp on the Barbie
Large prawns marinated and grilled on the “Barbie”cue.
Calamari Salad
Grilled calamari marinated in a lime vinaigrette and served
over a bed of crispy mung bean noodles on a bed of napa cabbage
salad dressed with a toasted sesame oil dressing.
